Welcome to the School of Sciences and Physical Education
Our School offers initial teacher education and professional development courses related to Science, Health Education, Technology, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Physical Education, Outdoor and Environmental Education and Sport Coaching. The School also contributes significantly to PhD and Masters programmes. We have particular research strength in Science Education, Health Education, Physical Education, Sport Coaching and Olympic Studies.

Student Volunteer Army named Anzac of the Year (20 April 2012)
The Canterbury University Student Volunteer Army, in recognition of its significant contribution to the Christchurch community following the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011, has been awarded the Royal New Zealand RSA's Anzac of the Year Award 2012.

Congratulations to Wendy Fox-Turnbull who has just been successful in publishing "The Role of Conversation in Technology Education in Design and Technology Education: An International Journal" Special Edition. Primary Issue: Making the Difference. Volume 15 Number 1.
Congratulations to Tammi Martin and Judy Bruce who have a chapter published in the just released book Miller and Nendel Service Learning in Physical Education and Related Professions. Jones and Bartlett Publishers.
